How is H.I.S.T. different from HIIT?

There is one small letter of difference between the two but it makes a huge difference:

S = Strength

High-intensity interval training has long been touted as an efficient form of cardio that blasts fat, but we turn the results up several notches with the addition of heavy-weight training.

Research has proven that choosing heavier weights with decreased rest time not only significantly improves strength gains, but lowers blood pressure and bad cholesterol. Additionally, High-Intensity Strength Training also delivers improvements to your physical abilities (both seen and felt), FASTER than traditional HIIT training.

So how does this translate into a H.I.S.T. class at BACH? Our class formats feature specific time intervals that perfectly balance the work/rest ratio. Because of this, we go HEAVY. With a strict eye on form, our Leaders will always encourage you to pick up the heavier slam ball, dumbbell, or resistance band. Chilling in your wall sit? Here, have a 30 lb. slam ball to hold over your head.
